5 Reasons Why You Should Move To Florida

Moving is a big deal, especially when you’re thinking of moving to another state. Most people already have a destination in mind. So many factors are involved, they may be retiring, moving to be near family, relocating for work and some are fearless trailblazers looking for adventure!

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Florida tops the list, for many looking for a change. Should you move to Florida? I am here to say YES!

Move To Florida

The Weather

Florida sunshine is iconic! When you think of Florida, you think of sunshine. For the most part, it gets hot in Florida. We have the occasional hurricane and there have even been instances of snowfall. Take it from someone who has driven through blizzards in Buffalo, NY, I wouldn’t trade it!

Average monthly highs range from low 90s in the summer months to high 60s in the winter months.

Florida Beaches

With 663 miles of beaches, you will be living where others dream of vacationing.  A part of me always feels a twinge of guilt when sharing a photo of a casual day at the beach, knowing that family and friends in the north are facing a day of shoveling snow.

Here in Sarasota, we are particularly lucky to have Siesta Key Beach just minutes from our doorsteps. World renowned and consistently capturing top rankings in several travel publications, the powdery white sand of quartz-crystal and multi-million dollar beach improvement project are what capture visitors’ hearts and keep them longing to come back.

Home to some of the best professional AND college sports teams, you are bound to run across some serious fans in the state of Florida. Personally, I tend to come across more college team fans and I can attest to their fierce loyalty. Cars and trucks adorned with the infamous orange and blue of the Florida Gators, entire families in matching Florida Seminoles shirts, it’s hard not to lean towards a certain team!

Baseball fans probably already know that Florida is home to Spring Training for several top teams. For a list of teams, their locations and schedules click here: Florida Grapefruit League

Entertainment & Culture

It’s no secret that Florida is a major tourism hub. Because we live here, what is a dream vacation for so many around the world can easily be an exciting day trip. Several of Florida’s most famous attractions are located along the I-4 corridor: Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Studios, the State Fairgrounds and Daytona International Speedway.

There is no shortage of culture in the Sunshine State. Art and history lovers can enjoy the Hemmingway estate in Key West, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford’s winter homes in Ft. Myers, the Dali Museum in St. Pete and our very own jewel the Ringling Museum, here in Sarasota.

Florida residents enjoy discounts to many of these attractions!

No State Income Taxes

Yes, arguably the best reason to move to Florida, you do not pay State Income Taxes! If you live in a State that does collect Income Taxes from your hard earned paycheck, have you asked yourself why?

Furthermore, did I mention there is no Estate or Inheritance Tax, as well? Want to read more about Florida Taxes? Click here: Florida Tax Information
